Why does Yahoo! have an exclamation mark?

So today, an interesting fact came into my fact box. Yahoo is actually an incorrect way to spell the company name. Why? Because Yahoo is a trademarked term that is used for barbecue sauce, knives and human propelled watercraft. This was the reason the company’s founders Jerry Yang and David Filo decided to add an exclamation mark at the end of the name.

Companies have often struggled with naming new products and services and Yahoo is no exception

Another interesting fact that only a few internet veterans will know, Yahoo stands for “Yet Another Hierarchically Organized Oracle.”
